Synopsis
Looks at findings and principles in social psychology in the areas of conformity and independence. Using field and laboratory settings to reinforce the interplay of experience and experiment, covers Sherif’s experiments on norm formation, Asch’s work on group pressure and Crutchfield’s variation, Milgram’s experiment on action conformity, Kelman’s three processes of compliance, and Moscovici’s theoretical views.
