Synopsis

A guide to computer safety to assist managers and employees in implementing the Health & Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992. Includes advice on how to sit and position oneself at a workstation; a demonstration of good keying technique; exercises to combat the stress and strain caused by using a computer; and guidance for optimising viewing conditions and caring for the eyes. Shows simple exercises for the neck, back, shoulders, hands and wrists to prevent muscular fatigue and describes the causes and symptoms of eyestrain. Highlights the responsibilities of employers to consult employees about health and safety issues and shows how employees can met their responsibilities to keep the workplace as safe as possible.
