- Synopsis
- The series presents research in experimental psychology which reveals significant concepts and methods in the scientific study of behaviour. This film explores some of the research conducted at the Carnegie Institute of Technology with electronic digital computers in an effort to evolve new theories about human mental processes. Shows Dr Bert Green’s computer experiments with perception of motion and depth and Dr Herbert Simon’s theory of how human beings memorise. Dr Allen Newell shows how the computer was responsible for creating a new theory about human problem solving.
