Synopsis

Reasons for using composites are outlined not only in terms of mechanical performance, but also for simplifying designs and manufacture or obtaining corrosion resistance. The applications described include high quality aerospace control services via bodies of passenger seats, to large diameter pipes and articles made from sheet moulding compound. Honeycomb panel, vacuum bag moulding and filament winding are shown.
