Synopsis: Looks at community care in three different areas. In Sparkbrook, Birmingham, the video looks at caring at home and focuses on a Barnados scheme for helping parents of disabled children, an Asian club for the elderly and a resource centre which is giving day care for those with a history on mental illness. In Halifax a self-advocacy group of the disabled is opposing plans to build a residential home outside the town In Norfolk the type of residential care given to the elderly is examined both in a state-run and a private home, asking how the residents are involved in assessing and asking for the type of care they receive.
