Commercial Work of Peter Blake, The

Synopsis
Peter Blake established himself in the late 1950s and early 1960s as a leading exponent of the idiom now known as pop art, and his work at that time was a direct and spontaneous celebration of popular imagery. Blake has continued to gather images from a wide spectrum of mass media sources, and his work ranges from slides of his record sleeves for ‘The Beatles’ and his book cover designs, through to the ‘Live Aid’ publicity of 1985, advertising, and posters.
