Cognitive Development
- Synopsis
- An overview of psychological theories of development, covering Piaget’s work and the views of the Behaviourists. Piaget’s stages of development are illustrated with animated sequences, and scenes in a classroom serve to show in concrete fashion the implications of the concepts for educational practice. The ideas of Bruner and Kagan are contrasted with Piaget and sequences in another school, which has adopted a cognitive behavioural approach, point this contrast.
