A history of non-fiction films, looking at the pioneers, the techniques and the equipment. Considers the main influences on documentary film-making, and shows clips of cinéma vérité classics including ‘Primary’, ‘Lonely Boy’, ‘Jane’, ‘Don’t Look Back’, and ‘Salesmen’. Also examines other films that used documentary techniques.
