- Synopsis
- Horsebreaker, diplomat, politician and teacher Chester Ronning grew up as the son of missionaries in China. He experienced the Boxer Rebellion and the civil war there, and later became a teacher in Alberta. As a diplomat after World War 2, he tried to bring to the West an understanding of China. The film recounts his life through conversation with Ronning, archival material and footage of his vast collection of art and momentoes.
