- Synopsis
- Looks at research into human ancestry based on information stored in the genes and passed on down through the generations. The ‘molecular clock’ theory maintains that a new people evolved in Africa and migrated into the rest of the world only a few thousand years ago rather than a million years ago as had previously been supposed. Some scientists further believe that everyone is descencded from a single woman who lived in Africa 300,000 years ago.
