Children of Eve, The

Synopsis
Looks at research into human ancestry based on information stored in the genes and passed on down through the generations. The ‘molecular clock’ theory maintains that a new people evolved in Africa and migrated into the rest of the world only a few thousand years ago rather than a million years ago as had previously been supposed. Some scientists further believe that everyone is descencded from a single woman who lived in Africa 300,000 years ago.
