Chapayev
- Synopsis
- Chapayev was a Red Army commander who fought against Czech and Kolchak forces in the Civil War. He was killed in action and became a folk hero when a book about him was published in the early twenties by his political commissar, D A Furmanov. The film deals with the hero’s exploits and was screened as the highlight of the celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of Soviet cinema held in January 1935. Based on writings by D A Furmanov and A N Furmanov.
