Changing Perceptions: Presenting Heritage

Synopsis
Considers important aspects of the effectiveness of heritage presentation. Eavesdrops on different people (two separate school parties, a postgraduate student from Zimbabwe and a British professor of archaeology as they visit three monuments in the Avebury complex. Are existing methods of presentation effective? The question of heritage presentation is of particular importance at this time because the National Trust has acquired most of the land which contains the full length of the Kennet Avenue. How should such a site as Avebury be presented to the public?
