- Synopsis
- The series of photographs, published in 1935 with the subtitle ‘Pictures from the Life of the Führer’, shows the early years of the Third Reich and the growth of the totalitarian police state. It was the year in which Hitler reintroduced conscription - the first breach of the Treaty of Versailles. The pictures show Eden and Simon in discussion with Hitler, and Hitler accepting posies from members of the Youth Movement.
