Synopsis
An introduction to the effects of damage to different parts of the brain illustrating the so-called lines of force - horizontal, vertical and lateral. Starts with a brief explanation of the relation between brain anatomy and lines of force illustrated by animated diagrams. A number of patients who exhibit behavioural symptoms resulting from brain damage are then examined. The cases shown include akinetic mutism, motor apraxia, ideomotor apraxia, left- and right-hemisphere damage, and brain bisection.
