Synopsis
A documentary compilation of film clips and interviews covering 100 years of cinema, looking at the way homosexuality has been represented in popular cinema and tracing how stereotyes emerged. and includes interviews with Gore Vidal talking about Tony Curtis’ failure to recognise the gay subtext to his scenes in ‘Ben Hur’, Tony Curtis’ description of his bath with Laurence Olivier in ‘Spartacus’, and John Schlesinger on how he filmed the kiss between Murray Head and Peter Finch in ‘Sunday, Bloody Sunday’.
