- What makes cell growth go wrong? Dr Mike Waterfield, Director of the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research in London, has been interested in the epidermal growth factor/receptor system and his research team has been able to make monoclonal antibodies to the EGF receptor which has allowed researchers to follow the fate of the receptor. Leukaemia and the genetic mechanisms form the other subject of the programme.
