Synopsis
Looks at an operational database system, the North Staffordshire Patient Administration System. Focuses not on the technical service of the database, but on the overlapping and conflicting user views that must be reconciled. Looks at hospital administration as seen by an out-patients clerk, a clinic receptionist, a nursing sister and a ward clerk. Interviews consultants and administratorsm and looks at the medical records department.
