Background to cardiac arrest, diagnosis, technique of treatment by cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Infant and child CPR are covered. Describes the use of a ratio of chest compressions to ventilation rather than the ‘new’ CPR technique which recommends continuous, independent ventilation/compression.
