Synopsis
Topics: overview of symptoms, pain diagnosis, pain management, dyspnoea, constipation, nausea and vomiting, depression, fear, communication, awkward questions, bad news, listening, understanding and being understood, assessment, emotions. Users are presented with a series of challenges, each of which they are invited to think about and discuss prior to making decisions. They are encouraged to share experiences and helped to enhance their skills in symptom control and communication. Small group use is deemed to be most effective, but the programme is flexible and can be used also by individuals and by large groups.
