Synopsis

Scenes of local village shops in Surrey. Thier owners explain how most of them have been run by the same families for many years and express their fears about how they are struggling to keep their businesses going in the face of supermarket competition. Scenes include a baker’s shop in Tadworth, a family butcher’s shop in Dorking, a haberdahser in Leatherhead, and a toy shop in Epsom. Filmed in March 1993.
