Breath of Life
- Synopsis
- Traces the Loughran family’s experience of cystic fibrosis, which threatens the life of 15-year-old Sheila, who could be helped by living donor lung transplatation, using parts of two sibling’s lungs. The surgery is carried out by Professor Sir Magdi Yacoub at Harefield Hospital. The decisions facing the siblings highlight the debate over the ethics of living donor transplants.
