Brave New Babies 1

Synopsis
Jonathan Glover, a moral philosopher from New College, Oxford, looks at developments in genetic engineering. Experiments involving gene-mapping, cloning and embryo manipulation are already routine but how will these techniques will be applied to the human embryo by the end of the century?. Glover discusses the idea of human clones, man-ape hybrids and the use of genetic engineering to change the intelligence of people. He feels it is important to work out now what our attitudes to future genetic engineering possibilities should be.
