Synopsis
Experiments in a smoke tunnel show how changes in the geometry or angle of attack of an air foil affect the pressure field, and how boundary layer stabilisation can be achieved by suction devices or through forced mixing by the use of vortex generators, blowing jets or detachable flaps.
