Zero Emissions
- Synopsis
- Shows the steps in a Fiji boy’s home project intended to utilise brewery waste that was causing environmental problems. The plant material in the waste was fed first to mushrooms to break down the lignin, and the cellulose could then be digested by pigs. The pig waste produced useable methane and the digested sludge produced algae in a pond for fish to feed upon. The waste water became clean enough to release into the environment.
