Also provides historical background about the area’s 19th-century colonisation by Holland, Germany and Great Britain. Presents a blend of music, voices, radio broadcasts and found imagery illustrate the extraordinary juxtapositions in a society which has gone from head-hunting to democracy in less than a century. ‘Yumi yet’ is a Melanesian rallying cry meaning ‘just us’.
