Booth Museum, The: 1890-1990

Synopsis
Marks the centenary of the Booth Natural History Museum in Dyke Road, Brighton. Shows, in the words of the staff and the people who use the museum, the 100 years of its life. Founded by Edward Thomas Booth, a local historian, the Booth is very much a ‘living’ museum despite the fact that it started as Booth’s private collection of mounted birds. These, and newer collections - from dinosaurs and fossils to butterflies and other wildlife - make the Booth one of the most important regional natural history museums in the UK. Also shows educational and environmental aspects of the museum’s work.
