York Mystery Plays, The

Synopsis
Shows the Medieval Players performing part of ‘The Annunciation’ from the Spicers’ Guild, and all of ‘Joseph’s Trouble about Mary’ from the Pewterers’ and Founders’ Guild from the York Mystery Cycle, outside the Guildhall in Peterborough Cathedral Square. Cicely Palser Havely introduces the plays, which are performed from a traditional pageant wagon in the original 15th-century English.
