X-Ray Diffraction
- Synopsis
- Sir Lawrence Bragg at the Royal Institution. Explains the principle of diffraction by multiple layers with the aid of animated diagrams and models. Describes X-rays and, in a series of experiments, shows how they are used to analyse the atomic structure of bodies. Ends by comparing models of the structure of sodium chloride and of a protein molecule, the construction of both models being the result of X-ray analysis.
