Worms: Flat, Round and Segmented

Synopsis
Compares and contrasts three major phyla of worms; flatworms (platyhelminthes), roundworms (nematodes) and segmented worms (annelids). The approach to flatworms is physiological, showing the nervous system, reproduction and regeneration. The approach to roundworms emphasises parasitism, with descriptions of the life cycle of ‘Fasciola hepatica’ and mode of existence of tapeworms. The evolutionary advances of segmentation are discussed in the section on annelids.
