Bones of Contention

Synopsis
In museums and universities across the USA lie the bones of tens of thousands of American Indians. For archaeologists the collections represent a unique source of knowledge, but for the Indians the bones hold the living spirit of their ancestors. The film looks at the successful campaign to ensure that the bones are returned for reburial and notes the chagrin felt by scientists at the imminent loss of their specimens.
