Synopsis
Micro-photograpic footage showing the hidden world beneath the surface of lakes and ponds, examining the water flea ‘Daphnia’, the carnivorous plant ‘Ultricularia vulgaris’ and its ensnaring mechanism, and the green freshwater polyp ‘Chlorohydra veridissima’. Also shows a flagellate, two types of amoeba, a sun animal, ciliates dividing and carrying out genetic exchange, moss and wheel animals, a dragonfly larva and the predatory transparant water crab. The sprocket-shaped algae provide an example of plant photosynthesis, the polyp of symbiosis and reproduction.
