Synopsis
Part 1: A record of the unemployment day demonstration on 6 March 1930. Shows various scenes of crowds and marchers moving from Tower Hill to Mansion House and includes shots of a Workers International Relief food kitchen, a women’s contingent and various speakers.
Part 2: A record of the National Hunger March ending in London on May Day, 1930. Begins with scenes of the Scottish contingent passing through Bolton, relaxing and marching on again. Other shots include Wal Hannington visiting the South Wales contingent near Slough, a cobbler mending marcher’s boots and the Lancashire contingent near Uxbridge. Final scenes show London workers joining marchers on their procession through London, and women hunger marchers; ends at Hyde Park.*
