Words for Battle
- Synopsis
- The idea behind the film was to set great passages of prose and poetry relevant to the great struggle of World War 2 against scenes of Britain. Quotations are derived from Camden’s ‘Britannia’, Milton, William Blake’s hymn ‘Jerusalem’, Robert Browning’s ‘Home Thoughts from the Sea’, Abraham Lincoln, Rudyard Kipling, and Winston Churchill’s famous speech in which he declares that Britain will never surrender.
