- Synopsis
- Explains the sources of acid rain, the chemical processes in the atmosphere and the effects on the soils, especially those with a more sensitive mineral and nutrient balance. Describes measures being taken to reduce emissions of sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxides from power stations, and which will ensure a continuation and acceleration in the decline in the CEGB’s emissions.
