Bomb, The

Synopsis
The implications of the escalating nuclear arms race. Moves from the ‘Hibakusha’ (survivors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki) in Japan to the computerised weapons systems of the US military, as it traces the evolution of the atom bomb. Many facets of the nuclear arms debate are considered, including ‘theatre’ or ‘limited’ nuclear warfare theories, and the opposition to both these and the absurdities of the British civil defence programme.
