Who Will Cast the First Stone?

Synopsis
Discusses the impact of Islamisation on women in Pakistan, particularly laws relating to extra-marital sex which is now a crime against the state, punishable by stoning to death. Women in prison, or out on bail, speak out against the violation of human rights inherent in the laws. Considers in detail the case of a couple, Sahida and Sarwar, who were condemned to be stoned to death for adultery. Also shows how women have forced their way into the forefront of political and democratic struggle in Pakistan. The film was made by women and men living in Pakistan, and without permission from the Pakistani government.
