Synopsis
A television adaptation by Jonathan Miller for the BBC ‘Omnibus’ series, of M R James’s story of the supernatural ‘Oh, whistle, and I’ll come to you, my lad’. A tale of solitude, terror and the dangers of intellectual pride, set in a bleak Norfolk landscape. The DVD features an appreciation of M R James by horror writer Ramsey Campbell, who also reads his own story ‘The guide’ which was inspired by the works of James. There is also a reading of the full, original M R James story.
