Where the Buffalo Roam

Synopsis
Follows the fortunes of the farming communities in the Midwest of the United States, where they have been devastated by over-exploitation of the land. Profits have plummeted, costs soared, as the wells - dug to provide irrigation and revive the West after the dust bowl of the 1930s - dry up. Crippled by debt, small farmers are once again being forced to abandon their land as large-scale farms take over. Heavily subsidised by the US government, small farmers are being paid to plant grass in a bid to conserve water resources and enterprising ranchers can now introduce buffalo back on the plains.
