- Synopsis
- Series following events in 1995 when Rover, Britain’s last volume car manufacturer, as the board, managers and staff adjust to life with their new owner, BMW.
1 (producer Kate Broome): Europe’s top motoring jounalists are exposed to Rover publicity as it launches its latest model. Meanwhile, Anglo-German relations become strained when BMW appoints a new chairman for Rover.
2 (producer Sarah Johnson): As Rover struggles to keep its own identity under BMW, the Germans urge the company to exploit its British heritage in the run-up to the launch of the new Rover 200.
3 (producer Jill Nicholls): Twenty thousand applicants complete for 2000 jobs at Rover’s Longbridge plant. Those who pass the intensive battery of tests receive an employment package that makes their high-pressure jobs among the most sought-after in the Midllands. - Language
