Synopsis
Looks at the distinctive characteristics of art from countries such as Ghana and Nigeria. Artists including Ato Delaquis, Prince Twins Seven-Seven, Vesta Adu-Gyamfi and Yinka Shonibare discuss their use of form, colour and materials and explain the symbolism and imagery in their work. They also talk about how their experiences of colonialism and traditional cultures and crafts have influenced the paintings and sculpture they create.
