Water Management (2 Parts)

Synopsis
Part 1: To maintain the quality of mains water, collected, treated and distributed by the water authorities requires close control of waste water discharges by industry at all stages. Costs of supplying and treating water, sources and effects of river pollution and control by the measurement of biochemical oxygen demand are discussed.
Part 2: Shows the basis of charges for waste water from various industries. The treatment of used water both before and after discharge to sewer is discussed and the point made that major cost savings can result by relating quality to use, by conservation, recycling and re-use.
