Synopsis
'Warwork News’ is a series of short newsreels produced during World War 2 for distribution in British factories. 1) ‘Food for thought’: a long item on factory canteens. The high nutritional value of the meals is stressed. 2) ‘Allies resume the offensive’: a short piece on the Italian campaign. The commentary speaks of the ‘enemy’s retreat which threatens to become a rout’. 3) ‘Surrender or else’: an account of the Cairo conference. Stalin’s absence is explained away.
