Synopsis
'Warwork News’ is a series of short newsreels produced during World War 2 for distribution in British factories. 1) ‘The other man’s job’, a theme that appeared in many issues of Warwork News - in this case women in a Scottish shipyard building landing ship tanks. 2) ‘Warrior of the week’, another recurring theme: a soldier back from Burma tells of some of his experiences and stresses the importance of good equipment. 3) ‘Mubo wrestled from the Japanese’: a description of some of the uses of air power in the war in the Pacific. 4) An account of the preparations made for the invasion of Sicily.
