Blind Watchmaker
- Synopsis
- Looks at the continuing conflict between Darwinian evolution and creationism. Creationists ask how evolution, ‘the blind watchmaker’, could be responsible for the astonishing complexity of living things. They back up their arguments with the contention that there are in Texas footprints of primeval giant men who lived concurrently with the dinosaurs. Oxford zoologist Richard Dawkins investigates the mysterious footprints and concludes that they reflect a bizarre manifestation of a spreading disaffection with Darwinism, but he is convinced that evolution is the only really satisfactory explanation for the complexity of design in nature.
