- Synopsis
- A CAL module on visualising in three dimensions. It aims to enable students to take various types of spatial geological data and from them visualise geology in three dimensions; also to introduce and reinforce various basic concepts for interpreting geology. In seven units: Basic concepts; Undeformed rocks in 3-D; Deformed rocks in 3-D; Cross sections; Block diagrams; 3-D geology from 2-D data; Wells and well logs. Approximately 4 hours of teaching material, intended to complement lectures and practicals.
