Visual Cortex of the Cat, The

Synopsis
Dr Colin Blakemore explains and demonstrates the experiments used to establish the existence of simple, complex and hypercomplex cells in the visual cortex of the cat. The characteristic properties of these cells are demonstrated and summarised. Uses diagrams and photomicrographs to explain the division of the cortex into ‘columns’.
