Synopsis
Vauxhall Gardens developed during the 18th century as one of several London gardens where entertainments were offered. Shows the extension of the theatrical potential of Renaissance gardens as well as the development of Vauxhall ‘theatre’ towards the more conventional music hall and opera house of the 19th century.
