Valley of the Inca

Synopsis
Looks at the Cusichaca research project, lead by Dr Ann Kendall, which is investigating the possibility of re-establishing original Inca farm terraces and irrigation canals in Peru in the high Andes after more than 400 years of decay. As the Andes are covered from north to south with millions of acres of equally ruined farm terraces which might also be brought back into productive use, the project, if it succeeds, could change the whole future of farming in South America. The programme joins the Cusichaca project six weeks before the end of its full six-year programme.
