Using ‘Index Medicus’

Synopsis
Introduces ‘Index Medicus’ as a bibliographic tool which lists references to articles on the medical and health sciences. Describes the two main sections - the ‘Bibliography of Medical Reviews’ and ‘Index Medicus’ itself. Follows a search for references through medical subject headings showing the use of the alphabetical list of headings and illustrating the way headings are grouped in the categorised lists.
