Urethro-Vaginal Fistula Repair with Martius Graft
- Synopsis
- Demonstrates and illustrates the operative procedure of urethro-vaginal fistula repair in a patient who had developed a fistula following excision of a urethral diverticulum. Two previous attempts at repair had been undertaken elsewhere. The procedure is carried out by dissection and closed in layers. A Martius graft is constructed from the labium majus to obliterate dead space, encourage additional blood supply to the repair site, and to encourage normal functional bladder neck. Recorded at the Conference on Advanced Gynaecological Surgery at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Gateshead, Tyne & Wear, on 14 April 1994.
